¡Hola! Mi nombre es Sarah-Isabel Poindexter-Ibarra. Tengo 20 años y actualmente curso la licenciatura de sustentabilidad, ciencia, y sociedad con una carrera adicional en cine en la universidad de McGill en Montreal Canadá. Vengo de Tepic y estaré dos meses en San Pancho involucrada en el proyecto de manejo integral de lirio acuático, MILA. En base a mis estudios universitarios, estoy particularmente interesada en la intersección y las interacciones entre el medio ambiente y los sistemas antropomórficos que nos rigen día con día. Este verano, mediante investigaciones de la biodiversidad fluctuante (y resiliente) del estero en consecuencia de la remoción del lirio acuático invasor me gustaría también aprender cómo se ven directa e indirectamente afectados los sistemas sociales por este cuerpo de agua cambiante.
Hello! My name is Sarah-Isabel Poindexter-Ibarra. I am a 20-year-old Sustainability, Science and Society student with a minor concentration in cinema at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. I come from Tepic, and I will be in San Pancho for two months working on the integral management of the water lilies in the estuary, a project named MILA for its initials in Spanish. Relating to my college studies, I am particularly interested in the intersection and the interactions between the natural environment and the anthropomorphic systems we uphold daily. This summer, through researching the fluctuating (and resilient) biodiversity of the estuary in reaction to the removal of the invasive water lilies, I would like to learn how economic and social structures are directly and indirectly affected by this changing body of water.
